After installing SpamSource for Outlook, the SpamSource toolbar does not appear.
The following steps can be used to troubleshoot the problemCause
In most cases
the installation software failed to properly install SpamSource.
Resolution
In Outlook 2000/XP/2003 Only
Select Tools->Options
Click on the Other tab
Click on Advanced Options
Click on COM Addins
If SpamSource is listed make sure that its entry is checked
Click on Ok to close the Options dialog
For Outlook XP/2003/2007
In Outlook select Help->About
Click on the Disabled Items button
In the Disabled Items dialog, if listed, select SpamSource and click on Enable
Close all dialogs and restart Outlook
If the instructions above do not correct the problem try
the following steps:
Close Outlook
In Windows
Click on Start->Run
Type in regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Daedalus Software\SpamSource\SpamSource.dll"
Click on Ok.
Click on Start->Run
Type in regsvr32 "c:\Program
Files\Daedalus Software\SpamSource\SpamSourcePage.dll"
Click on Ok.
The paths may vary depending on where you installed
SpamSource.
In some cases SpamSource can not load because one or
more Registry entries are missing.
Warning: Editing the Windows Registry can
cause damage to your system. These instructions should be only be
performed by users with experience with browsing and modifying the Windows
Registry.
Open Regedit (Start->Run, type in
regedit, click on Ok)
Verify that the following keys exist:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Daedalus\SpamSource
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Licenses
Verify that the following value is set (the
location depends on choice made during installation.)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns\SpamSource.Connect
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns\SpamSource.Connect
Verify that the value LoadBehavior is
set to 3
