 After installation SpamSource fails to load in Outlook
Solution After installing SpamSource for Outlook, the SpamSource toolbar does not appear. The following steps can be used to troubleshoot the problem

Cause

In most cases the installation software failed to properly install SpamSource.

Resolution

In Outlook 2000/XP/2003 Only

Select Tools->Options
Click on the Other tab
Click on Advanced Options
Click on COM Addins
If SpamSource is listed make sure that its entry is checked
Click on Ok to close the Options dialog

For Outlook XP/2003/2007

In Outlook select Help->About
Click on the Disabled Items button
In the Disabled Items dialog, if listed, select SpamSource and click on Enable
Close all dialogs and restart Outlook

If the instructions above do not correct the problem try the following steps:

Close Outlook

In Windows
Click on Start->Run
Type in regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Daedalus Software\SpamSource\SpamSource.dll"
Click on Ok.

Click on Start->Run
Type in regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Daedalus Software\SpamSource\SpamSourcePage.dll"
Click on Ok.

The paths may vary depending on where you installed SpamSource.

In some cases SpamSource can not load because one or more Registry entries are missing.

Warning: Editing the Windows Registry can cause damage to your system.  These instructions should be only be performed by users with experience with browsing and modifying the Windows Registry.

Open Regedit (Start->Run, type in regedit, click on Ok)
Verify that the following keys exist:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Daedalus\SpamSource
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Licenses

Verify that the following value is set (the location depends on choice made during installation.)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns\SpamSource.Connect

or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\AddIns\SpamSource.Connect

Verify that the value LoadBehavior  is set to 3

SpamSource 3.16 would not load in Outlook 2000, despite selecting "Repair" or uninstalling/installing again, both with and without Outlook running. Nothing was visible under "COM Add-ins". Registering the DLLs had no effect either.
Problem was that the Registry LoadBehavior was set to 2. Setting this to 3 caused both the Toolbar and the SpamSource tab under "Options" to appear. Thanks!

After upgrading to Office 2007 SpamSource will not load. Went as far as reinstalling, but keeping my settings. No Joy. Followed these instructions. No Joy. Outlook says, via the COM Add-Ins dialog, that "SpamSource Addin "Not loaded. Certification of signed and load at startup COM Add-In is not in trusted source list."

Suggestions?
